Project Overview:
In this project, we addressed the replacement of a malfunctioning and non-standard door in a furnace and water heater room. The original door was no longer functional, and a custom solution was required to ensure both proper fit and compliance with safety standards.
Scope of Work:
1. Door Removal:
– Carefully unscrewed and removed the old door, which was inadequately supported by worn-out screws.
2. Custom Bifold Door Installation:
– Procured two sets of bifold doors to match the unique dimensions of the existing door frame.
– Precision-cut the new doors to the required height, width, and side dimensions.
– Rebuilt the door frame by removing old filler wood and constructing new sides with fresh wood.
– Assembled the door components using adhesive and pre-drilled holes for hangers to ensure a secure fit.
3. Ventilation Modifications:
– Added necessary ventilation holes to the door and frame to facilitate proper airflow in the furnace and water heater room, ensuring safety and compliance with ventilation requirements.
Outcome:
The project successfully upgraded the non-functional door with a custom bifold door solution tailored to the unique dimensions of the space. Additionally, ventilation modifications were made to meet safety standards, improving both functionality and safety in the furnace and water heater room.
